Groups for Moms

3

One of our readers, Cathy from near Chicago, is seeking a Catholic group of moms meeting in her area.  This brings up the issue of such groups and how we can better provide information to moms looking to gather in fellowship with one another.  I’m not really sure how to tackle this topic, but if you belong to a Catholic mom group, women’s bible study, or other Catholic women’s group in your area, please post a comment below and let us know where you are located. If we receive sufficient responses, I will try to organize this resource here on CatholicMom.com and keep a running directory of moms groups.  Thanks for helping Cathy, and other Catholic moms around the country!

We have a Catholic Moms Group in the Kissimmee, FL area at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Currently, we have opened the group up to area parishes and have had a good response but would love to have more moms join us. We meet in the mornings on the first Monday of the month. Although we are going to be taking a break for the summer (our last meeting is this Monday-5/4/09), we are planning to begin meeting again in the fall.

  2. We have a Catholic Moms group, Magnificat Moms, at our parish, and have shared our resources and been able to encourage other local parishes to form their own groups. I’ve set up http://www.magnificatmoms.org as a website with several ideas, resources, and other information for how to set up your own Magnificat Moms group in your area.
