How does Mary, the Mother of God, speak to the modern female experience? Does she comfort, challenge or inspire? Ginny Moyer wanted to know how women today would answer those questions, so she invited women of all ages, some cradle Catholics and some converts, some lay and some religious, to share their thoughts on Mary. In the process of collecting women’s stories, Moyer learned that the answers to these questions are as diverse as the women themselves.

  16. I was baptized Catholic as a 3-day old baby and raised Protestant. As an adult woman of 40 I was confirmed into the Catholic Church. Like other statements above, I too feel as if Mary has been a mother to me throughout my life. Even when I was practicing a Protestant faith I felt drawn to her. I remember watching the Rosary on EWTN in my 30s and teaching myself how to say the Hail Mary prayer. Once I was confirmed I learned the Rosary which has been so eye-opening as so powerful. I love being Catholic!

Thanks for listening and please enter me in your drawing.

  19. Your selection of gifts speaks to the various aspects of Catholic motherhood: the rosary & decorative case — our need to pray; the books — our need to grow in our Faith; the various jewelry — our need to have our vanity celebrated just a teeny bit; the Tupperware — our homes as our domain! I’d say the only thing missing is chocolate!!!! Thank you for setting up this drawing and giving us a chance to win these delightful treats — but most especially for encouraging us to imitate our Mother in Heaven — our most treasured and cherished gift!
