Lety’s Creations by Lety Alvarez — Catholic Pinterest Board of the Week
By - Posted on May 11, 2012Because it’s Mother’s Day weekend, and because we all deserve a little eye candy — especially when we’re enjoying Pinterest — this week’s board of the week is a virtual gift to all of my mom friends out there! My Creations at Lety’s Creations by Lety Alvarez contains the types of treasures we moms would buy for ourselves for Mother’s Day if such things were socially acceptable!
Lety Alvarez is the proprietor of Lety’s Creations and a Catholic jewelry designer. Her faith, but also her creative flair, shines through both in her pieces and in her pins, which are photographed beautifully. You’ll also find Lety pinning craft ideas, inspiration people and animals on her boards.
I’m curious to know if any of our Pinterest users have purchased items you’ve seen pinned, or if any of my friends who are selling items have found Pinterest to be a good source of visitors to your stores.
As for Lety, and her Creations, I hope someone might take the hint and send my wonderful husband a link to this week’s board of the week!

One final treat for you — our good friend Allison Girone of the Catholic Pinterest Group Board has kindly agreed to offer a weekly pointer for us on how to use some best practices to enjoy and effectively employ Pinterest. Here’s this week’s tip from Allison:
Give credit, we are obligated to make sure our pins link to the original source. While Pinterest says best not to promote your own stuff…what’s safer? You’re assured of getting the credit right and there’s no chance of making yourself angry. It’s your board. No one has to follow you. There is an unfollow button. Create a nice mix, share the love.
If you’re a Catholic using Pinterest, please drop a link in the comments below to share your boards. Also, I’d love to hear about why you love Pinterest and how you think this latest craze might be used to spread the Good News.

I love Pinterest; it’s a great way to organize and visualize ideas for homeschooling, vacations, decorating, etc. and yes, I do think it’s a great way to share things about our faith as well! If you are interested in checking out my boards, they can be found at http://pinterest.com/ninelives/ – the Catholic-specific ones are Liturgical Year and My Heart My Home My Church.
Thanks Sharon – loved my visit to your boards!
Thank you very much for featuring me in your blog- You are a blessing and I have found that Pinterest is much of an inspiration for me as well, so much beauty that I would not normally search for on search engines and it’s all there and so many gifted artisans sharing their gifts and it has helped me to increase traffic to my store.
Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart and may God continue Shining His Light and Love in your life
Lety
Lety — Thanks for your kind words! I absolutely love your work!!
Thank you Lisa – God Bless you
I have a Catholic business and a personal pinterest board. I would love to learn how to create one like Lety has done. Should I recreate the one I have or can I start a new one? Lety’s jewelry is beautiful!!!
Amy, if I were you I would just start a new board on your current account. You see that Lety has her business pins mixed in with her personal ones which gives a good overview of all of her interests. Maybe she’ll reply too!
Amy, I agree with Lisa, keep the one you have and just rearrange your boards and make one board just for your Catholic business. I do like to have them together to be able to share all what I’m interested in and sites with prayers as well not just my business and thank you for your kind compliment on my jewelry. God Bless you
Pinterest is so inspiring for me as a homeschooling mother, Catholic, scrapper, artist, well all areas of my life, really. I find many great ideas and am so glad that I’m able to share wonderful things I have found on the net or things I have made. I have found many faith building articles and sites that I would otherwise never have known about, and Pinterest has been a great way to find other Catholic moms on the web. I think it will continue to be a good way for us to share our faith and support each other as Catholics. You can find my boards here: http://pinterest.com/ekwhitetn/
Thanks EK! Just followed you!!
