The Great 2012 Pentecostal Mass Check In

Editor’s Note: In conjunction with our friends at Peter and Paul Ministries, we’re planning to be a part of the “Great 2012 Pentecostal Mass Check In“. This is such a terrific way to use the great technology at our fingertips to share our love of our Faith with our friends! See details below and please help us spread the word. LMH

Pentecost is on Sunday, May 27th. In an effort to celebrate the birthday of our Catholic Church, we invite you to Check In or post a status update to your Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, FourSquare, or any other social media profile to let people know that you take Mass seriously.

In the Acts of the Apostles, Pentecost was the day that the Holy Spirit came down upon Jesus’ disciples giving them strength to proclaim in different languages the wonders and Truth of Jesus Christ. Today we use social media to communicate with each other.

This Pentecost, let’s use this means of communication to let our friends and followers know that Jesus Christ is a priority in your life and that Mass is important to you!

So, here’s the plan:

When you go to Mass this weekend, let the world know where and why Mass is important to you. The Hashtag is #MassCheckIn.  You could even take a picture of yourself (before Mass starts of course) and attach it to your post. Tag Peter and Paul Ministries in your post and we’ll add your pic to a Pinterest board to celebrate Pentecost. Use Instagram to send us a really cool vintage pic!

Examples:

A) Tweet it — “I’m headed to Mass to celebrate Pentecost! Come Holy Spirit! #MassCheckIn”

B) Facebook Check In – If your parish is on Facebook, check in and comment how excited you are to celebrate Pentecost! “Pentecost Mass! Holy Spirit, please strengthen my faith!” If your parish isn’t on Facebook, simply post it to your profile. Don’t forget to tag Peter and Paul Ministries in your photo!

C) Foursquare – If your Parish is on Foursquare, let everyone know you’re at Mass!

D) Instagram – Snap that vintage pic of you at your parish and hashtag it with “#MassCheckIn”

E) Google Check In – “Excited to celebrate the Holy Spirit at Pentecost Mass at St. Thomas Parish! #MassCheckIn”

If you don’t have a smartphone, that’s ok! Simply post a status update before heading out to Mass or after Mass when you get back to your computer.

We look forward to seeing everyone’s Mass Check In posts and pictures!
