I typically try to “mix it up” when it comes to our Catholic Pinterest Board of the Week, but this week I had to return to you with another amazing example of creativity in the realm of faith activities. It was this pin on “Mary Houses” that initially drew me to follow Jennifer of the wonderful Crafolic web site. Click through and dig in and you’ll find yourself in a treasure trove of terrific ideas for sharing the faith. Our pick for this week is Jennifer’s Catholic Craft and Ideas board, but do yourself a favor and follow ALL of her boards. I’m busy gearing up to make my own Blessed Kateri felt doll for the feast day of one of my favs and can’t wait to try some of her other user friendly suggestions! Way to go Jennifer – keep on pinning!

And here’s this week’s tip of the week from Allison Girone of the Catholic Pinterest Group Board who has kindly agreed to offer a weekly pointer for us on how to use some best practices to enjoy and effectively employ Pinterest:

Think there is inspiration out there that you still haven’t found? Use the search feature to the top left.  Search under the name of your home town, your state. Search under the name of your favorite collectible, favorite author, musician or celebrity. Search your favorite decade. Search your imagination..

If you’re a Catholic using Pinterest, please drop a link in the comments below to share your boards. Also, I’d love to hear about why you love Pinterest and how you think this latest craze might be used to spread the Good News.

  1. I’m on Pinterest at http://pinterest.com/morethanenough7/

I think it can be a beautiful way to spread the Faith. I have a few boards that are specifically inspired by my Catholic Faith. One of my boards is dedicated to the Blessed Mother, because shortly after Easter I started the “33 Days to Morning Glory” Marian Consecration. In the midst of that prayerful time, it was one way of keeping her close to me throughout my day. I love the collection of images I have there, and hopefully, it will continue to grow.

Pinterest can be an excellent way to just share beautiful tidbits of our faith—an image, a quote, a saint—or ideas for celebrating our Faith (like the crafts you mentioned). It is so visually beautiful and inspiring, which is another reflection of the Catholic Faith!

  2. Oh, wow!!! What a shock!! Thank you for featuring my pinboard and all my Catholic crafts!! I feel very honored! I hope you enjoy making the Bl. Kateri doll! She’s my favorite of all the Saint felt dolls! Thank you again! And May God Bless you!

  3. Jennifer, you’re welcome — and honestly your boards are fantastic! I’m totally craft impaired, so your ideas are welcomed and the fact that they are relatively easy is a real help. May God continue to bless your family and keep crafting and pinning! I hope this brings you some additional followers!
