Daily Gospel Reflection for July 1, 2015

Gospel Reflections 800x800 gold outlineToday’s Gospel: Matthew 8:28-34

Optional Memorial of Blessed Junípero Serra, Priest

After Jesus drove the demons into the herd of swine, the townspeople feared him because they did not understand who he was, or where his power came from. As disciples baptized into the mission of Jesus, we, too, have the power of the Holy Spirit to drive out the many forms of ‘demons’ that we encounter each day. Whether it is the cranky neighbor, the person driving with road rage, or the co-worker who just can’t seem to be nice, we have the power of Christ within us to counteract evil by offering love, mercy, and joy to those around us. Are we up to the task? It is our faith in Jesus Christ that gives us the authority to stand up to the evils in our society and to help lead all people to know and love God.

Recall a time when you stood up for your faith against the accusations of a disbeliever. What did you experience?

Lord God,
Your mercy is without measure.
Give us the conviction of faith that we may
help drive out the evils around us.
Help us to be agents of peace
and love to our family, friends,
and those you send our way.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.

I notice Dr . Mary More has work with Veterans I don’t know If it’s women who’s husband were at war or women. However my husband
Is a Marine and went too Vietnam in 1965 just before it got really bad . He said all the training could not per paired when place in real come back . He was train Before the law was past how brutal they were with the Marin as the helicopters drops you down in the jungles of Vietnam he said he saw men freak out , cry, in , shock, and so on he felt a lot fear then prayed ” LORD IF I DIED LET ME DIED WITH COURAGED” tow months. Later he was wounded in his foot and they had to carry him up the hill which was very difficult soon after they it took him tow years. To fully walk again , he was a runner in high school. But could no longer run that was sad for him b/c in his sleep he earns he is running again how sad .
He serviced his country and recived a Purple Heart but it was unfair the way America greeted the soldiers back then .
Today he is an Anttory how ever In his mind I think he still thinks as. A Marine it’s hard to live with someone like that he doesn’t or does that he has to live the past behind he is know in a always defensive. He doesn’t trust anyone and is aware of everything the surroundings he can even hear a deer walking in the middle if the night that amazes me.
Please pray for him and the women who live with veterans uptime doesn’t trust anyone and is aware of everything his surroundings he can even hear a deer walking in the middle of the night.
He is cradle catholic and never left the church like I did b/c I long to study the word of God & the bible one thing I can say is that I learn the stories of the the bible and how too look up scripture when I came back to the Catholic Church I notice how many women didnt know how to read the Bible or can they didn’t even know who can David was or Scripture when I came back to the Catholic Church I notice how many women did he know the bible,
my husband put our son in catholic school although Imam cradle catholic I left for awhile however those 5 years I got involved. B/ c I didn’t want him to pray too the saints & Mary
The first time I attend mass with him after being gone for many years I notice the the readings we’re all, bible but I also notice the women never open there bible or even know who king David was or the story of Ruth . They just went through throught the motion . That’s when I got involed with with the pilgrim center of hope . Org
I,am affiliated with them and help with the women’s conference over 1800. Attend every year from all over the state .
Hear San Antonio Texas where I volunteer every year that is how I meet Sonja Corbitt . I also felt as she shared hear testimony there was more than that I wanted to know how she got there over coming her raged and the women real Ted too her so well she was a hit !! and I knew then that she would write a book in detail how the Lord delivered her something inside of me just told me that .
