Teens are usually disengaged at Mass not because they don’t care about God or don’t want to know Him but because no one has ever connected the dots between the ritual and the relationship. Altaration acknowledges “the elephant in the sanctuary” as Mark Hart calls it, encouraging and challenging teens to take another look – a deeper look – at the liturgy and all that heaven is doing here on earth through it.

  1. Interestingly the following video was created in England to make Catholic Youth Workers realise that they needed to be teaching the Kerygma (as highlighted by Pope Benedict XVI & Fr. Larry Richard’s etc) to the young Catholics.

In Catholic youth work there was no understanding of who Christ is, why He, came, and why He is the reason for our hope.

This video was created to link the kerygma to liturgy so that, finally, there would be a connection in people’s minds between the two…..
