Question of the Week: December 8, 2015

QOW large square

Now that we’re into the second week of Advent, let’s share our favorite ways of celebrating this wonderful season with our children.

What’s your family’s favorite Advent custom?

Note that I said “your family’s favorite.” That’s because I’m going to keep it real here and show you my children’s favorite way to celebrate Advent: by playing with fire.

  1. We have little blocks of strap wood wrapped in Christmas paper. They represent gifts for Jesus. Any time the children do something nice or an extra chore for Jesus, they get to place a present in His stocking. For this purpose, we hang a stocking with Jesus’ name on it by our fireplace during Advent.
