RISEN is the epic Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer. Clavius (Joseph Fiennes), a powerful Roman military tribune, and his aide, Lucius (Tom Felton), are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus (Cliff Curtis) in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumors of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem. This month, the film is finally available to bring home and we’re happy to give you a chance to WIN a copy for your family! To enter to win one of three copies of the film, simply leave a comment below by midnight PT on Sunday, 5/22/16.

Recently, the RISEN team visited the Sheen Center for a screening and had this to say about the experience of meeting Pope Francis at the Vatican:

FINAL_LisaHendley_RISENMemeIn January and February of this year, we took you to the movies for a few sneak peaks inside the highly acclaimed film RISEN. Our coverage included my personal interviews with the film’s stars Joseph Fiennes (Clavius) and Tom Felton (Lucias). Bishop Barron shared his review of the film, saying of it, “I was surprised and delighted to discover that the movie is, in fact, robustly Christian and substantially faithful to the Biblical account of what transpired after the death of Jesus.”

Now, in case you missed it in theaters, you have the opportunity to bring this movie home digitally on May 10th or on May 24th on 4K Ultra HD™, Blu-ray™ or DVD. Order yours on Amazon and support CatholicMom.com with your purchase.

The winners of this contest have been notified. Thank you to all who entered for participating!

  1. Went to see this movie with the hubby completely based on your review, Lisa! Was such a great film and would love to have it to watch more often, especially in Lent.

  2. I absolutely loved this movie! I saw it just 5 days before giving birth to my third child. So this movie holds a special place in my heart as it was one of the last things I did with my husband before we became parents to three beautiful children. I’d love to share it with my older children. I think they’d love the plot and seeing what the world was like during Jesus’ time.

  3. I’d love to share this with my non-believer family! They love history, sooo that’s my “sell!”

  4. We wanted to see it but we can’t really trust our kids with a babysitter. When they were younger, we couldn’t trust the babysitter with the kids. Would love to win it.

  5. This looks like avery interesting film. I did not get the chance to see this in the theater but I really wanted to see it. This looks like a film that my wife would really like. Thank you for the giveaway.

I saw this movie in the theatre and loved it. I think it portrayed very realistically the reaction of a non-believer to the miracle of Easter and the divinity of Jesus. The actor who portrayed Jesus was wonderful as was Joseph Feinnes. I highly recommend it!

  7. I recently read a great review of this movie in my husband’s Knights of Columbus “Columbia” Magazine. Would love to see it!

  8. Ronald Oliver on

Thanks for having the giveaway! I’ve been reading great reviews for Risen, and I haven’t seen it. I would love to be able to win a copy to enjoy with my family.

  9. As a Roman Catholic priest, I love to have a copy as a powerful tool for my ministry with the youth. It’s intriguing take of the story will be a sure spark for intelligent and interesting discussion that can deepen their love for God in Jesus Christ.
