GIVEAWAY: Magnificat Advent Companion App for iOS

"GIVEAWAY: Magnificat Advent Companion App for iOS" (

One of the richest Advent resources I’ve seen is the Magnificat Advent Companion app. From the publishers of Magnificat magazine, this app contains all of the magazine’s content, plus bonus resources that print magazines cannot offer, such as Advent chants to use as background music for your prayer.

A daily page from Magnificat Advent Companion 2016.

A daily page from Magnificat Advent Companion 2016.

Launching the app brings you to the daily prayer section. Each day you will find morning, evening and night prayers that are abbreviated versions of the Liturgy of the Hours, as well as an Advent meditation and full text of Mass readings, antiphons and prayers of the day. Selecting the “Order of Mass” tab at the bottom of the Mass page brings you to an index page for a full missal, so you’ll be able to read along with every prayer during Mass.

Extra features you’ll find in the app include poetry, a guide to praying the O Antiphons, and blessings for your Advent wreath, Christmas tree and stable.magnificat-advent-companion-2016

This app is for iOS only and displays beautifully on both iPhone and iPad.

Magnificat has generously provided download codes for this iOS app for two winners!

  1. I didn’t know they did an app! I get the book every year, but the app would allow me to have it with me all the time. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Angels We Have Heard on High – because I like to pretend I can sing the runs 😉 and it reflects the joy of the season.

  3. I loved Magnificat. And then I had more kids, and it just became difficult for me to manage. The convenience of the app may make it possilbe for me to resume using this great resource.

  4. What a beuatiful app! I am trying to make this Advent season more prayerful. This app would help greatly with this goal. Thank you!

  5. This would be so lovely, Magnificat’s prayer book for the Year of Mercy has been amazing. “Silent Night” would have to be one of my favorite carols, easily works as a lullaby for our children.
