Small Success Thursday: Little Victories and Pilgrims' Progress

Hello everyone! It’s Sherry Antonetti here with this week’s setup of Small Success Thursday. Part of building the community of online, is getting to know more about each of you and your faith journey in this vocation of being a parent, a spouse, and whatever else in totality God has called you to be.

Small Success Thursday is a means by which we can share our little victories and our pilgrims’ progress in faith, and tell our online friends what we hope, what we’re working on, and what perhaps, we want others to pray with us about.

It’s not bragging or tooting your own horn to want people to know you’re working out again, or you read this really great book, or you and your husband went on a date. It’s not bragging to say your kid is becoming potty trained or you’re pregnant or you’ve cleaned out a closet. It’s something you would tell your friends and they’d say, “That’s awesome!” It’s something to feel justifiable pride in having done, and something which, when shared, brings joy.

So I hope you’ll share your joys and triumphs and hopes with us, something you did, something you’re planning to do, and something you’re doing in the com box, and share this post, inviting others to do the same. The internet can be a lonely and angry place. Let’s help make it less wild, more communal, more a place of joy through Small Success Thursday.

What small successes are you celebrating this week?

  1. Welcome back 🙂 This week I went out on a limb a bit to ask for extra school support for my teenager who has special medical needs (still waiting to see if that’s granted, but it takes a lot to screw up the guts to ask). I also worked out a dinner list for the month ahead; that’s all ready to plug into the calendar. Finally I kept my mouth shut at a meeting instead of picking a fight. That last one was hard.

    • I was so excited to see this back on the site!! I have always loved Small Success Thursday!!

Will be praying for that extra help!! Momma’s gotta fight for their cubs. I am sure in the end you will be successful in getting them what they need!

Oooh, did you NEED DUCT tape for that last one HA HA… I WOULD! OR a cork. I have often thought we need adult binkies to help me keep my mouth shut – like a cork lol

  2. I restarted work. I’m also trying to persuade the few stragglers in my household to finish their summer projects. My brother and sister and Mom, all live in the path of Hurricane Harvey. While none of them flooded, there are some serious issues, and Beaumont is a real mess. But I’m grateful all of them are okay.

  3. After a year of struggling with debilitating hand eczema – I have had a week of reprieve! Ok, it came after a week of daily doses of Cod Liver Oil (bleck! but if it continues to heal me — I’m in!). It felt so good this week to WRITE, TYPE and even holding my Bible with minimal discomfort. I could push through it and I FEEL the light is definitely at the tunnel!! YOU just don’t realize how much you use your hands until you can’t use your hands!

    • Sherry Antonetti on

I am so glad you’re getting some relief! I don’t think I could talk if I couldn’t use my hands! 🙂
