Small Success Thursday: Small Victories

Hello everyone, welcome to another edition of Small Success Thursday.

Today, I’d love to tell you I lost four pounds, read a book, wrote three columns and tidied up the house.

But I can’t.

I can tell you, I went up two, and down two, I read half a book, wrote two columns and because we were expecting company, I called a maid service to help out and make the house look nice.

I’d love to tell you my son finished the common application, my other son practiced his trombone.

We got through three pages of the common application, and my son practiced one time and only after I promised him a Sprite.

It was a weekend of small victories, not total, not what we wanted, but small victories none the less. (A perfect sampling for this week’s Small Success).

It isn’t that I’m unhappy with what happened, it’s that I recognize we were striving for more and still are.

God wants our lives to grow deeper in love with Him and He’s willing to let us get there step by step, through small victories (not yet total) but victories nonetheless. It isn’t that He’s unhappy with our cooperation, but He also always seeks for us to strive more.

I hope this past week was full of Small Successes, bringing you closer to the person God calls you to be, and bringing your family more joy than you expected.

Happy Small Success Thursday!
