Tech Talk and Giveaway: 2017 Magnificat Advent Companion App

"Win the 2017 Magnificat Advent Companion App" (

One of the resources I look forward to each Advent is the Magnificat Advent Companion app. Like the Magnificat magazine, the app features daily Morning, Evening and Night Prayers, along with the readings and prayers for each day’s Mass and an Advent meditation.

But the app also boasts features you won’t find in any print magazine, such as chants for Advent. And since it’s on your smartphone or tablet, you can take it with you wherever you go.

Among other Advent resources you’ll find in this app are blessings for your Advent wreath, nativity scene, and Christmas tree, and a guide to praying the O Antiphons.

Launching the app brings you to the daily prayer section. Each day you will find morning, evening and night prayers that are abbreviated versions of the Liturgy of the Hours, as well as an Advent meditation and full text of Mass readings, antiphons and prayers of the day. Selecting the “Order of Mass” tab at the bottom of the Mass page brings you to an index page for a full missal, so you’ll be able to read along with every prayer during Mass.

EDITED TO ADD: We have our winners! Thanks, everyone, for your interest. This app is available in the App Store and Google Play store for only $1.99.

Magnificat has generously provided download codes for this app for EIGHT winners: four for iOS and four for Android. Would you like to win this app? Simply leave a comment indicating whether you’re Team iOS or Team Android; the first four replies for each platform will win a download code for the app!

      • Ooh Yay!
        Thank you so much!
We have been doing Night Prayer with our 5 children (aged 9, 7, 5, 3, and 7mths) and it is going well. But it will be great for me to be able to do Morning and Evening Prayer myself too as well as all those extras.
        Thank you again. 🙂
