Tonight, a special event is being hosted by Ignatius Press, publisher of the new book Ten Universal Principles by Father Robert Spitzer, S.J. While I haven’t personally read this book yet, it’s on my “wish list” and this webinar is a tremendous opportunity to interact with a noted theologian and educator. Here are the details:
EVENT: Fr. Robert J. Spitzer will host a live Web event to discuss and field questions about his new book, Ten Universal Principles.
WHEN: 8 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011
WHERE: Online at http://www.livestream.com/
FORMAT: Fr. Spitzer will open with general comments about the book and his reasons for writing it, then will take questions from participants through the website, Facebook and Twitter.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
- How do we make sense of life?
- How should we treat others?
- How should we reasonably expect others to treat us?
- Are there reasonable principles – regardless of religious belief – that can guide our actions, especially when human life is at stake?
Father Spitzer offers a look at such standards in Ten Universal Principles: A Brief Philosophy of the Life Issues. In a truly concise and easy-to-read format, Father Spitzer transcends religious beliefs to offer sound, “lynchpin” reasoning that can guide our thoughts and actions … our laws and public policies.
