I recently had the opportunity to review three wonderful children’s books published by Magnificat and distributed through Ignatius Press. Each special in their own ways, I think they would make an excellent addition to any Catholic home or school library. All three were written by author illustrator Jean-Francois Kieffer and the second two mentioned here were co-written by Christine Ponsard and published in partnership with Magnificat.
If you haven’t yet read Volume 1 of the Adventures of Loupio, don’t let that stop you. This was the first time I’ve met Loupio, an orphaned young boy who finds friendship with St. Francis of Assisi and a tamed wolf. The illustrations are charming and the multiple comic book style stories in this Volume will have your child asking for more.
A perfect bedtime story or compliment to Sunday gospel preparation, this brightly illustrated book tells classic parables in a way that is both true to the gospel message and understandable for children. Bring these classic teaching lessons to life for your favorite little reader.
Another instant classic, this book again helps children comprehend some of the mysteries of the miracles of Jesus Christ. The language is simple, yet true to the original Bible passages. You’ll be reading this together multiple times!
