Emergency Help Needed to Support Philippine Typhoon Victims

3

Friends, please join me today in not only praying for, but also actively supporting our brothers and sisters in the Philippines who are suffering in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan. Our friends at Catholic Relief Services are on the ground and rallying support and needed resources for those suffering from the monster storm:

Catholic Relief Services, our partners and other aid agencies are in the process of mobilizing resources to help the government and the most affected areas. The typhoon was powerful and expansive, hitting a number of islands. It did not weaken as it passed through and hit a number of islands as a super typhoon. Based on other typhoons, like Typhoon Bopha last year, we can expect that this was a catastrophic typhoon, not only for one island but many. – Joe Curry, CRS Philippines country representative

Please consider an immediate gift to Catholic Relief Services to aid typhoon victims. Catholic Relief Services, in cooperation with their partners, is on the ground helping people meet most urgent needs, including water purification, shelter materials and essential living supplies.

We’re building a wonderful partnership with our friends at Catholic Relief Services and are happy to spread the news about their great work being done around the world. We’ll be regularly sharing information and stories from both the FaithWorks section of CRS and their other initiatives as well. This week, I want to point you to the following stories that are sure to inspire:

As always, we urge you to consider prayerful support and a financial gift to Catholic Relief Services.

  1. It is great to know that Catholic Relief Services is already there to assist with all the needs of the Filipino people. We need to do what we can by either prayer or financial support. I hope that many parishes throughout the world will take up a separate collection to submit to Catholic Relief Services. They are truly making that difference in this most difficult situation. Thank you Lisa for this article as it gets the word out in how we can support this emergency situation.
