Novena for the Sanctification of Modern Media: Day One

Day ONE: For the Conversion of Hearts

This is where we begin our efforts to storm Heaven to pour grace down upon us in a renewal of virtue in American media, entertainment, and technology.

March 17: The Feast of St. Patrick

Begin with the sign of the cross and pray:

Heavenly Father, pour grace down upon us in a renewal of virtue in American media, entertainment, and technology.

Dear Blessed Mother Mary, we ask you to pray with us for these nine days, for the sanctification of modern entertainment and media. We pray that our culture will be guided by the moral compass of faith and virtue. We pray that the story of Christ in the Creed might captivate the hearts and minds of adults, children and youth.

Dear St. Patrick, through your faithfulness, God converted hearts in pagan Ireland. Your creativity to use the image of a simple shamrock as an icon of God as a trinity united in love, enlivened people’s imaginations with faith in the true God. Please join your prayers with ours for the sanctification of American media.

Pray the Apostle’s Creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell; the third day He arose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen.

Thanks for joining us in these nine days of prayer together. (Or at least as many days as you can!) I gratefully, humbly ask you to also include Virtue Works Media with your intentions in each of these daily prayers. Let’s start today and take the inspiration and strength we receive through these prayers to communicate a joyful desire to create and consume virtue in media and entertainment in our little circle of life. God is the original creative artist; working with him we can have confidence that it is possible to overcome evil with good and renew the face of the earth, from Hollywood to Silicon Valley and beyond.
